Miss India Worldwide UK
2012
4th February 2012
The
awaited finals of the Miss India Worldwide UK
2012 are to be held on 4th February 2012 on board
the HMS President currently moored at Embankment,
London. This event pays homage to some of the
most beautiful women of Indian Heritage within
the UK, with the winner competing in the Miss
India Worldwide Pageant to be held on the 25th
February in Paramaribo, Surinam. She will be going
'head to head' against the winners of the Miss
India Worldwide Pageant from over 30 Countries.
This years event is
the first year for Jaya Patel who was recently
appointed as the National Director of Miss India
Worldwide UK (MIWWUK) for 2012. Jaya took up the
challenge of being the National Director with
the aim to bring added transparency, structure
and support to the event. She said, "as
a mother of a finalist I experienced first hand
the difficulties faced by applicants. I wanted
to ensure that all future pageants in the UK supported
the contestants throughout the competition and
provided the environment, with the glitz and glamour
that such an important competition deserves."
One
aspect of the compeition involves contestants
supporting their favourite charities. On Thursday
12th January 2012 at the Aura Club in London,
Aisha Uka, age 2,6 MIWWUK 2012 Finalist, put together
a Charity Fashion show on behalf of Save The Children
called 'Fashionista Relief'. Aisha, who looked
stunning in her black and silver ensemble, said
"Thank you to everyone, we raised a great
amount for a great cause".
