It's official, Indian fashion and Indian designers are hot! After decades of falling between the two stools of high-end, highly decorated, adapted-for-the-western market cocktail wear, and the fun but tacky cheesecloth and tie-dye, the last decade has seen the emergence of a cool, chic Indian style - a style that slips as easily into wardrobes in London and New York as it does in Mumbai and Delhi.

To celebrate this recognition of Indian contemporary style, Ensemble joins 35 new young emerging Indian designers geared to the international market at an Indian Fashion Extravaganza at Chelsea Old Town Hall. Open to the public (Admission Free) on Wednesday 4th June (10 am-8pm) and Thursday 5th June (10am-5pm) the exhibition will showcase all that is new and innovative at prices only slightly higher than Mumbai retail.

Organisers of the exhibition The Ladies' Wing of the Indian Merchant's Chamber works tirelessly for many women's charities in India and the two day sale will raise funds for a Mumbai charity committed to the upliftment of underprivileged women. The Ladies' Wing has also generously designated the opening night preview as a fundraiser for Jaisalmer in Jeopardy, a UK based charity dedicated to the preservation of the architectural and historical heritage of Jaisalmer, India.
