WERSHA BHARADWA
Wersha Bharadwa, journalist, 27, Solihull

Wersha BharadwaWersha Bharadwa is considered as one of the most enthusiastic writers of her generation. She admits that her writing may not be on front line reporting, but she writes about issues important to all women and issues that her contemporaries in the Asian community would shy away from: sexual freedoms affecting 21st century women, relationships and the right to please ourselves.

Her fun, informative writing has resulted in Wersha co-hosting the Adil Ray programme on BBC Asian Network solving relationship problems. Richard and Judy and Krishnan Guru Murthy have also interviewed her on her opinions from the size zero debate to women carrying condoms.

Having gained a first in Journalism, Wersha became the first British Indian in-house staff writer for Cosmopolitan magazine and in 2004 became a features writer. She now freelances for national newspapers and top women's magazines including New Woman where she helped front the campaign for a 26-year-old lady who had been refused cancer drugs on the NHS. Wersha, as well as freelancing, is working on her first novel and is a guest lecturer at the University of Central England, Birmingham.
