Tanya Datta is a talented journalist and producer working in radio and most recently in television. She began working for BBC World Current Affairs department six years ago, first as a researcher and then as a producer and reporter.

Tanya's radio achievements include working on The Tsunami Audio Memorial for Radio 4, to illustrate the enormity of the event by bringing together audio material from the areas affected. Tanya also reported on 'Crossing the Continents' looking at how the Marxist government in Kolkata is taking to entrepreneurial capitalism. Tanya's view into the city and its history significantly added insight to the programme.

In Bollywood: Casting Couch for BBC Two Tanya uncovered the sleaze of the casting couch in the Bollywood industry. The squeaky clean morality on screen was a shocking contrast to what happens off screen. Tanya also spent two years of her own time researching 'The Secret Swami' for BBC Two.
