RAJINDER MANN

Rajinder Mann has taken the Black Leadership Initiative by storm since she joined the organisation in 2002. She has designed the network’s programmes, which are focused on advancing the careers of its black and ethnic minority members, delivered the programmes to meet all targets, evaluated and maintained them. For example, Mann has increased the number of senior black and minority ethnic staff in further education and has doubled the number of principals appointed from four to eight in three years.

Her achievements have also been recognised by her peers. In 2006, Mann received the Network for Black Professionals award for outstanding and continuous contribution to race equality. Black Leadership Initiative chair Stella Mbubaegbu says: “Her passion and energy has been a driving force in the pioneering work of the Black Leadership Initiative, which is having a significant impact across the FE sector.”
