Whilst studying for her degree at Cardiff University, Nita Shah won a coveted place on the Windsor Fellowship Management Training Programme for ethnic minority students. Her reward was a graduate placement in the press office for Halifax building society where she began a career in PR. Nita spent several years working in a variety of PR roles, including a job at a leading corporate/financial consultancy where she was part of a team that won PR Week's 'Best Financial PR Campaign' award. In 2004, at the age of 26, Nita set up her own PR company, Shahrp, winning her first client within four days.

Specialising in public relations and media strategy aimed at ethnic minority groups, Sharhp is a freelance PR consultancy based in Barnet. Its clients include Asian Wedding Exhibitions and DAWN, an organisation that arranges events to help Asian women fulfil their entrepreneurial aspirations. One of Shahrp's greatest accomplishments to date was the successful UK launch of popular Indian hair salon, Habibs. Shahrp has quickly become recognised as a leading British PR company, being referred to by PR Week as 'a rising star of the PR industry'.
