PROFESSOR KIRAN TREHAN
Professor Kiran Trehan, Department of Management, University of Central England.

Kiran TrehanProfessor Trehan has worked for the University of Central England's Business School in Birmingham since 1989. She joined as a senior lecturer in the Department of Management and later became deputy head of department. She has been in her current role of head of department of management for the past five years and has developed a significant research and publications profile in the field of management learning and human resource development. In 2003, Kiran was one of sixteen academics and practitioners invited to participate in a national working group on the future of human resource development.

Kiran's work in Higher Education over the past fifteen years has benefited thousands of students, mid and senior managers who, in turn, are now captains of industry, commerce and public sector organisations. Kiran has cultivated, refined and promoted an approach to academic leadership which enthuses and inspires others to embrace the change agenda that enhances widening participation, employability, quality, learning, teaching and research. Leading by example, she has encouraged a culture whereby colleagues regard the classroom as the crucible for the interface between research and practice.
