The British Asian Trust launches charitable spread-betting platform

The British Asian Trust, one of Prince Charles' charities, launched a unique spread-betting platform, to help traders and individuals make charitable donations in a novel way, on Thursday 21st July 2011 at the Oxford and Cambridge Club in Pall Mall, London. Developed in in association with Worldspreads Group Plc*, BATrustmarkets.com calculates the difference between the bid price and the selling price and then donates 20 per cent of that income to The British Asian Trust. This form of trading is exempt from tax and the more individuals trade, the greater the sum donated.

We’re just asking you to do what you do anyway. I think it is a genuine advance in charitable giving.” Alpesh Patel, co-founder of the platform who demonstrated the service to guests.
