'Liberal Democrats are the only party for you', Nick Clegg tells British Asians.

In a brief interview with Redhotcurry.com, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Nick Clegg spoke directly to British Asians saying "the Liberal Democrats are the only party that will stand up for you. The Liberal Democrats call it right on the big issues that matter to people - from scrapping ID cards and getting innocent people off the DNA database, to citizenship rights for the Gurkhas, to opposing the illegal invasion of Iraq and asking the tough questions on Afghanistan. So my message to British Asians is this: the Liberal Democrats are the only party in British politics prepared to stand up for British values - tolerance, fairness, and opportunity for all."

"If you want a fair tax system, where we close loopholes exploited by the very wealthy so that the vast majority of people pay no tax on the first £10,000 they earn, saving, on average, £700 each. If you want schools to have extra money to cut class sizes and provide extra tuition for pupils who are struggling. If you want honesty about the future of the public finances, and a new, green economy that isn't threatened by risk-taking in our banks. And if you want decent politics, where vested interests no longer call the shots, and power is handed back to people - people who have the right to sack corrupt MPs - then the Liberal Democrats are the only party that will stand up for you", he added.

"Labour has failed. After thirteen years they've made this country less fair. And the Conservatives can't be trusted to make it any better, always saying one thing and doing another. Take the environment. They talk the talk, but then align themselves with climate change deniers in the European Parliament. Take cleaning up politics too. It's no good the Conservatives saying they want change, only to block the Liberal Democrats when we put forward reforms - like ending the influence of big money. The Liberal Democrats call it right on the big issues that matter to people."
