TSB DIRECTOR WINS SIKH COMMUNITY AWARD

Kamel
Hothi, Asian Markets Director at Lloyds TSB has been named a winner
in this years Sikh Women in the Community awards,
in recognition of her commitment to raising cultural awareness within
the financial services sector. Presented by Mayor of London, Ken
Livingstone, at the recent Vaisakhi celebrations in Trafalgar Square,
the awards acknowledged the outstanding contributions and achievements
of Sikh women from across the UK. Other winners on the day included
renowned film director Gurinder Chadda.
In
speaking about the accolade, Kamel Hothi commented: Its
always an honour to be recognised for the work youve done
and its particularly rewarding to gain that recognition from
your own community. I have been working hard to champion the Asian
community and this makes the achievement all the more meaningful.
Lloyds TSB has been at the forefront of diversity issues and Im
very proud of the role I have played in driving awareness of the
increasingly diverse communities in Britain today.
Kamel
began her career with the Lloyds TSB Group 28 years ago as a cashier
at the Slough branch. She rose through the ranks to become the first
Asian bank manager at TSB and has continued to climb the corporate
ladder to her current role as Asian Markets Director. She has played
a leading role in growing the Lloyds TSB Asian Markets business,
which has helped develop a range of products and services catering
for the Asian communitys unique financial needs.
Kamel
has helped to drive and shape Lloyds TSBs ethnic minority
staff network and in addition, she has chaired the Government National
Employment Panel for Procurement, which aimed to improve supplier
diversity and race equality in employment. She also serves as a
committee member for the Government Ethnic Minority Group.
