ASIAN FEMALE PRESIDENT OF THE PRAJAPATIS

Hansaben
Mistry from Bolton was elected as the President for Shree Prajapati
Association (UK) on 15 May 2005. The Association was established
in 1975 with the objective of advancing religion and education,
particularly in Hindu culture, and the relief of poverty and sickness.
There are 13 branches of the Association covering the UK with a
membership over 12,000 adults and has strong ties with other Prajapati
organisations throughout the world. It is a registered charity with
an established International Trust Fund through which it makes grants
to deserving causes.
Hansaben
served the Association at the national level for past 10 years,
including Mahila Leader, Assistant Secretary and the last four years
as the Secretary. She is also an active member of the Bolton Branch.
Her professional career is the field of International Credit Management.
On
her election as the first female President, Hansaben said It
will be a great challenge to balance a busy professional life with
looking after my family and concentrating on community work all
at the same time. I am also looking forward to serving the community
in view of bringing a better understanding of the need for upholding
family values and our rich culture
Jasuben
Mistry from London was elected as the Secretary and Dineshbhai Mistry
form Bradford as the Treasurer. The Association is planning its
30th anniversary gathering in September in Leicester.
