honoured in Golden Jubilee Year
(June 2002)
A
number of well-known Asians have been chosen by Queen to receive
honours in her Golden Jubilee year Honours List. Knighthoods have
been bestowed on Gulam Kaderbhoy (G K Noon) of Noon Products plc
and Professor Partha Sarathi Dasgupta of Cambridge University. Another
curry manufacturer, Perween Warsi of S&A foods has been awarded
a CBE. Sushil Wadhwani who has served on the Bank of England's monetary
policy committee has also been made Commander of the British Empire.
