ASIAN
WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS 2002
(25th January 2002)
Yes
it's THAT time again! Time to
celebrate the achievements, contributions and success of Asian women
in the UK - nominations are invited for the Asian Women of achievement
Awards 2002. Brainchild of Pinky Lilani, a successful businesswoman,
who after her involvement in the European Women of Achievement Awards
decided that it was time to celebrate the success of Asian women
in the UK.
The
'Asian Women of Achievement' (AWA) Awards were set up to recognise
the immense accomplishments of unsung heroines within the Asian
community as well in the commercial, professional, artistic and
humanitarian sectors.
Now
in their third year, the Awards acknowledge individual effort; provide
role models for, and give inspiration to, Asian women from all walks
of life; and raise awareness outside the Asian community of the
outstanding qualities of Asian women in this country.
Anyone
can submit a nomination for the Awards and any Asian woman is eligible
for entry.
Patron
of the Awards, Cherie Booth QC, commented, "I am honoured to

deserve to be recognised and rewarded for the invaluable contributions
they are making to the fabric of British society, the Awards do
exactly that".
