TO STARDOM

If
a haircut can make your dreams come true, then get used to this
one as you are going to be seeing a lot more of it! For
this cut belongs to 23-year old Arun Sandhu from West Ealing, who
charmed his way into becoming a VJ (video jockey) on STAR Plus and
Channel [V] in India. Arun was one of five finalists selected from
thousands of entries in the largest national talent search within
the Asian community in the UK - the 'Ticket to Stardom' promotion
launched by satellite and cable channel STAR Plus.
Arun,
a young student from King's College in London, was chosen by a panel
of judges that included Channel [V] Executive Producer Mona Singh
Ahaluwaaliaa; Founder of the MOBO Awards Kanya King CBE; Sunrise
Radio's Commercial Director Tony Lit, as well as Taz of pop sensation
Stereo Nation and Lisa Srao VP of UK Business Operations for STAR.
Arun
said of his participation: "It has been so exciting and so
nerve-wracking at the same time. I never thought I'd make it this
far, but I'm absolutely delighted to have won - STAR has made my
dream come true! I can't wait to get to India and start working
with all the stars!"
Arun
will be jetting his way to Mumbai, where he will be given professional
training before he starts his TV career on yearlong contract with
STAR India. The deal will launch Arun into the homes of over 300
million viewers in the Subcontinent and give him the opportunity
to interview a host of global superstars like Kylie Minogue, Britney
Spears and Madonna!
