Two Pakistani girls run from their families, leaving a community in crisis. Their bid for freedom has led them to an Asian women's refuge in a nearby Northern town. But with dialogue between the generations impossible, the girls soon ask themselves how sweet freedom really is.

Sweet Cider is a poignant story about fractured family ties, which looks at the dilemmas that cultural mores can bring for all members of a community, young and old. Emteaz Hussain's debut play is based, in part, on her own experiences of running away as a teenager.

Directed by Kristine Landon-Smith, the production features a cast of nine, including fresh acting talent in leads Rajneet Sidhu and Mez Galaria.
