From the time they were children Layla and Qays knew that they were made for each other. Born to share breath, body, heart and mind. Just one problem.....Layla's family.

Dry mouthed through the desert, bursting through bustling bazaars and lounging in lush gardens, Layla Mujnun is an entrancing tale of love, passion, madness, duty, honour, sadness and joy. This intriguing Persian legend is often likened to the classic love story 'Romeo & Juliet'. Well-known across the world, this romantic tale has inspired work as diverse as Bollywood movies and Eric Clapton's classic rock song 'Layla'. Layla Majnun reunites many of the artistic team who worked on MAC and Sampad's last co-production 'Heer Ranjha'. Told in words and music the story is performed in English, with some songs featuring Punjabi and Urdu Lyrics. The piece will be presented by a large company of dancers, musicians and actors - an exciting mix of top professionals and talented members of the local community.
