Where's
My Desi Soulmate?: UK Tour 3 February - 29 March 2009
After
the success of 'It Ain't All Bollywood', Rifco Arts presents 'Where's
My Desi Soulmate?', a fun-filled new comedy which provides a contemporary
and humorous insight into the lives of British Asian singletons.
It used to be so simple: boy meets girl over a plate of samosas
in Auntie Bimla's living room. Now there are all kinds of routes
to finding The One. From dating websites to speed dating, the path
of true love has never been so complicated.
'Where's
My Desi Soulmate?' places the audience in the role of cupid, when
four quick-witted performers play out hilarious scenarios based
on audience suggestions. Meet the many characters in search of love
and companionship: Rajen the pharmacist in need of a love remedy,
Maz the football mad divorcee, Susheila who is crazy about blind
dates and Joggi searching for his true identity. Will their singleton
status become ancient history?
'Where's
My Desi Soulmate?' brings together some of the finest talent in
British Asian theatre including director Pravesh Kumar, writer and
director of 'The Deranged Marriage' and 'There's Something About
Simmy' and co-writers Harvey Virdi who played Nina Mandal in ITV's
Coronation Street and Sonia Likhari.
