Sensuous elegance and athletic exuberance are the hallmarks of Mavin Khoo Dance ,whose five dancers return in a new production Chandra/Luna, inspired by Indian and European notions of the Moon and its influence on human life. Embracing ballet and modern dance with the sinuous power of classical Indian dance, Chandra/Luna shows the Moon in all its guises. Dancers in 'Chandra/Luna include: Mavin Khoo, Seeta Patel, Dylan Elmore, Isira Makuloluwe & Stefanie Estelle Sauer.

It includes guest choreography by Laurent Cavanna and Liz Lea, a new solo for Mavin Khoo by the distinguished CV Chandrasekhar from Madras and a new company finale by Mavin himself.

Music ranges from ancient Indian poetry to French Impressionist harp (Satie and Debussy), from a specially composed soundscore by Andy Pink to traditional Carnatic song and Dvorak opera, sound-mixed by international club DJs Per QX and Matt Ross.

Mavin Khoo started dancing as a child in Malaysia before training in India in the classical dance forms odissi and bharata natyam. Since moving to London,where he studied ballet, he has worked in theatre, television and cabaret both in the UK and internationally, with leading artists as Wayne McGregor,Akram Khan and Shobana Jeyasingh.
