JUGGY
D 'THE ALBUM'
(23 August 2004)
Juggy
D is one of the hottest up & coming Panjabi singers in the UK.
Signed to 2Point9 records, home of leading Brit Asian producer Rishi
Rich, and managed by the team responsible for the success of Craig
David and Mis Teeq, Juggy D could well be the first Panjabi vocalist
to make a dent in the UK mainstream.
Having
only been in the industry for two years, Juggy has a list of credits
to die for. After starting out guesting on Rishi Rich's first album,
Juggy has featured on tracks by Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Craig
David, Mary J Blige and Timbaland. He recently featured on the huge
hit "Hum Tum (U and I)", the first ever non-Bollywood
track to feature in a major Bollywood movie. In addition to his
music, Juggy co-presents weekly The Rishi Rich Project radio show
on London's Kiss 100.
A born
and bred Londoner, Juggy D was involved in music from an early age,
but it was in 2002 that he was introduced to Rishi Rich and the
pair clicked immediately. Rishi saw raw talent in Juggy and decided
to feature him on the track 'Nahin Jeena' on his album 'Simply Rich'.
The tune was a massive, featuring at No 1 in the Asian charts for
nearly 6 months.
Juggy's
profile has gone from strength to strength. He featured on Rishi
Rich's classic remix of Craig David's single 'Rise & Fall' (and
coached Craig David for his Panjabi vocals on the track!). He then
featured alongside up and coming vocalist Jay Sean on the Rishi
Rich Project single 'Dance With You', which charted at No 12 in
the UK National charts in Sept 2003.
Since
then Juggy has performed live in front of 5,000 people at a Rishi
Rich Project concert in Dubai, in front of 165 million-strong TV
audience at the at the MTV India Awards, supported Busta Rhymes
at Wembley Stadium and became the first Panjabi singer to perform
at the Southport Soul Weekender.
Recently,
American super-producer Timbaland hooked up with Juggy when the
Rishi Rich Project took him to Southall on a £3,000 Indian
Music shopping spree.
Juggy's
solo album "Juggy D" is released on 2Point9 Records on
23 August 2004. The lead track "Sohniye" is produced by
Rishi Rich's younger brother Mentor, who has previously produced
for Craig David and Nitin Sawhey. The track has been played by DJs
for well over 6 months now and is fast becoming an anthem for 2004.
