Palace and Mosque will show examples of a range of gorgeous decorative Islamic art including ceramics, textiles, carpets, metalwork, glass and woodwork. It includes the beautiful masterpiece, the Luck of Edenhall, a glass beaker made in Egypt of Syria in the thirteenth century. It also includes the Chelsea Carpet, dating from the early 16th Century, an outstanding example of Iranian weaving at over 5 metres long. 2 contemporary commissions will sit alongside these amazing objects building on the stories that make them so magical.
