Kamal Choudhury, who lived and worked in Uganda (East Africa), presents a personal experience of his life in India and Africa through an exhibition of his paintings and wildlife photography at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan from 16-17 October 2004.

Kamal Choudhury was born in 1929 and educated in India. In 1955, he was recruited by the British Government for the Education Department in Uganda where he lived for many years. He worked as the Head of Department of Fine Arts at the Mbale Senior Secondary School and as a visiting artist at Makerere University.

Kamal Choudhury's love of nature is deep rooted. He travelled extensively in Uganda and captured the richness of culture and natural beauty of the country, especially of wildlife in his paintings and photographs. He won many prizes and has held sixteen one-man exhibitions in the UK and abroad.

Presently, Kamal Choudhury has terminal cancer. This exhibition, organised by his family, is to honour his life and work. Paintings are not for sale.
