	‘Indian Inspirations’ is a group exhibition by artists, Mari I’Anson, Caroline Jariwala & Anjali D'Souza. The show presents an eclectic and thought-provoking range of work, representing the rich colour and culture of India. Work spans from figurative to landscape to semi-abstract work, through a range of media including, watercolour, oils and acrylic. read more
	WORLD CINEMA: A DIALOGUE BY KURCHI DASGUPTA, 18 - 24 SEP
	Indian Artist, Kurchi Dasgupta from Calcutta will be showing a series of unique oil paintings (18 - 24 September) on classic films from around the world, that are both evocative and surreal in nature. She covers a wide repertoire of films in her work including Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali and works of Kubrick, Bergman, Truffaut and Woody Allen. read more
	THE PUNJAB: MOVING JOURNEYS, 9 SEPTEMBER - 27 NOVEMBER
	A divided land riven with conflict for centuries. The preconceptions of the Punjab are also as varied as the extraordinary mix of peoples who have made this region their home. Now, the Royal Geographical Society is exhibiting The Punjab: Moving Journeys to reveal the little-seen history of the region at the Society’s HQ in London from Tuesday 9 September until 27 November 2008. read more
	LONDON MIX: LOOKING THROUGH THE EYES OF YOUNG LONDON
	As part of the UK 2012 Cultural Programme, Watermans and motiroti have joined forces to develop London Mix, a new participatory public art project for the Cultural Olympiad, to enable young people in West London to reflect on London's role as the Olympic host city in 2012. The projects runs from 14 July until 28 September 2008. read more
	SOUZA, MEHTA TOP CHRISTIE'S INDIAN MODERN ART SALE
	Works of Francis Newton Souza and Tyeb Mehta were the highlights of the Christie's sale of contemporary Indian art here, which also included works from Tina Ambani's Mumbai-based Harmony Art Foundation. Souza's 1955 work "Birth" sold for £1,273,250 ($2.5 million) as against an estimate of £600,000-800,000 while Mehta's 1984 untitled (Figure on Rickshaw) went for £982,050 as against an estimate of £300,000-500,000 pounds. read more
	IPAK - 10,000 SONGS, 10,000 IMAGES, 10,000 ABUSES
	An interactive science-art work, 'iPak - 10,000 songs, 10,000 images, 10,000 abuses', developed by artist Ajaykumar, will be launched online on 14 March 2008. 'iPak' explores themes of art as medicine, mental illness and racism. read more

	WORLD RECORD PRICE FOR A CHUGHTAI
	Bonhams latest sale of Indian and Islamic Art made a total of £2,042,908. Abdur Rahman Chughtai's 'Guarded Beauty' fetched £66,000 against an estimate of £40,000 to £60,000 - a world record price for Chughtai. The sale was preceded by the auction of paintings contributed by Britain's Asian community that raised £36,400 for the Earthquake Appeal. read more
	INDIAN PAINTINGS ACHIEVE RECORD PRICES AT AUCTION
	A world record price - £145,600 - was achieved for Lot 328, The Tree, the Bird, the Shadow, by Jagdish Swaminathan (India 1928-1993) against a pre-auction estimate of £40,000 to £60,000 at the Bonhams Modern Indian, Pakistani and Arab paintings Sale last week. It is believed to be the second highest price achieved by a modern Indian artist. read more
	'PATRIOTS' BY RAVI DEEPRES
	Patriots is a project by British artist Ravi Deepres, who has over recent years established an international reputation for his photographic and video work. This work is concerned with collecting and manipulating striking images of supporters and crowds at international football matches. read more
