'Enter
07' is Watermans annual showcase of the year's
finest work by South Asian New Media graduates.
Graduates were selected based on their ability
to use new technologies to present diverse views
on contemporary issues and communicate them in
innovative ways. The exhibition includes photography,
video, animation, interactive, graphic and communication
design.
'Enter
07' features Rainfall, a digital animation work by Nadeem Ali &
Walk London, an interactive and informative installation on the
virtues of walking, by Diviyesh Kika, both graduates from Westminster
University.
Light
& Rhythm in Indian Dance, a series of black and white photographs
capturing detailed movements of classical Indian dancers by Vinita
Agarwal (featured in Creative Review); and Ara's Sojourn; a digital
film about a young woman's journey in an urban landscape to explore
what it is to be a British & Muslim by Sunara Begum -- both
are graduates from Central St Martins College of Art.
Do
you think I'm successful? Is a short film by Manisha Lad, of London
College of Communication taking a humorous look at what is the measure
of success for Asian women, as revealed by three generations in
one family; whist, Apna Desi, by Ravi Sohanpal, from Chelsea School
of Arts and Design, uses the dying art of the iconic Bollywood billboards
to create contemporary hoardings exploring cultural symbolism of
youth.
Guilty
Wallet, by Ruhel Mohammed from Middlesex University, is a product
designed to embarrass you - If you spend too much, your wallet will
react in a socially and humiliating manner, in front of your mates!
Lastly, we have, Contemplative Realm, by Rosy Notta from Thames
Valley University, which encourages users to interact with real
plants, connected with digital sensors that demonstrate the effects
of climate change!
