SUBHASH
GHAI'S NEW FILM - JOGGER'S PARK
(1 September 2003)
....It happened one morning between
young, vibrant, attractive Jenny in her prime, and elegant, famous
celebrity Justice Chatterjee in his autumn. There was a new fragrance
there was a new song
there was a new summer at Joggers Park!
Jogger's
Park is the latest anticipated blockbuster from Subhash Ghai's.
Ghai is the same director who weaved his magic in memorable movies
such as 'Taal', 'Pardes' and 'Yaadein', all being box office hits
of the year. He is widely regarded as one of India's most prolific
filmmakers.
The
film boasts an impressive star cast including veteran actor from
Kolkata, Victor Banerjee - an Indian actor of international repute
who starred in films such as 'Passage to India'. The heroine is
Perizaad Zorabian, a budding new star from Mumbai who starred in
off-beat film 'Bollywood Calling'.
Produced
by Ghai's established company Mukta Arts Ltd, Jogger's Park undoubtedly
has a sense of finesse. It has been shot in one stretch in just
38 days; entirely shot on location in Mumbai, in real houses and
in the famous Jogger's Park located in the well-known suburb of
Bandra in Mumbai.
Its
marketing strategy does not abide to the norms of traditional Indian
filmmaking either. The film has debuted at the Cannes Film Festival
and Mukta Arts have formed synergies with online portal MSN and
Airtel - a cellular service provider, with the aim of creating and
sustaining awareness for the film.
FILM
SYNOPSIS
Jogger's
Park is the story of Jenny, a young, vibrant girl, a darling to
everyone in 'Joggers' Park'. She's beautiful, bold, an extrovert.
In fact, Jenny is the classic example of 'traditional, yet modern'
by virtue of the fact that though she flits between two glamorous
professions - working as an Executive in a five star hotel, and
as a model in the Mumbai Advertising world - her values are still
traditional. She
sings and dances along with this glittering world, looking like
a picture of joy though her romantic life has taught her a lot and
made her mature beyond her years.
Everyone
wants Jenny
and she loves being single.
At
'Joggers' Park', she happens to meet a very famous man known as
Justice Chatterjee. He has observed modern youth and its changing
patterns after forty years of sitting under the roofs of various
courtrooms where morals, values and ethics form the base of the
Indian judiciary system.
But
now what does he see at 'Joggers' Park'?
A new
world, new people, new feelings, and new experience through his
bond with this new friend Jenny. Her bold and candid character amazes
him
and attracts him.
'Joggers'
Park' is a light hearted, breezy musical tale that keeps ypu smiling
thoughout. It is a new play, a unsual film, brilliantly shot that
brings to life amazing characters with real sensitivity.
Jogger's
Park will be released on 12th September 2003.
