Aditi Majumdar is an educated middle-aged housewife bored with her humdrum existence. An old friend Hemenmama encourages her to start writing, and soon her first work is published. Unfortunately, husband Supratim and her two sons show no enthusiasm and even disparage her literary efforts. One day a drunk Supratim abuses his wife and tells her that he prohibited Hemenmama from coming to their house. All these insults are borne by Aditi silently. The painful realization comes to her that a woman has no identity of her own in a male-dominated society.
