Sunny (Kapil Jhaveri) is a young man trapped by emotions who crosses the border and lands in Pakistan. There he encounters Rukhsar (Saloni Aswani) who is trapped in a fire trying to save the life of a child. He jumps in the fire and saves them both.

He again encounters Rukhsar at a party and their love blossoms. One day, she asks him to marry her but he reveals that he is an Indian and has come to Pakistan for a mission that shocks Rukhsar. His mission concerns her father, who is man of great principles and morals, a brigadier in the Pakistani army.

She feels the sky has fallen in on her and her dreams are crushed.

Rukhsar's love and the high principles of her brigadier father come face to face and this creates highly charged climax of Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa.
