Sonam Kapoor to cash-in on "chick flick" chic

Bollywood actress, Sonam Kapoor, has tied up with international brands such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Dior and Chanel for her latest film role in the film ‘Aisha’ – Indian cinema’s first ever "chick flick" - produced by her father, actor Anil Kapoor. Vice President of Christian Dior Couture, Kalyani Chawla made reference to 60 Dior dresses and accessories being worn by the female lead and the other cast members and Sonam carries a 'Lady Dior' handbag throughout most of the film. Sonam's character is dressed in Christian Lacroix, Vintage Chanel, Ayesha Depala, Manish Arora, DLF Emporio, and Portico in the form of her array of designer dresses and vintage jewellery. Vice President of Portico, Pallavi Tibrewal says the brand is to introduce 10-12 designs for the Portico ‘Aisha’ Collection which are due to launch around the release of the film.

Beauty L’Oreal Paris is also planning to promote their ‘Aisha’ range with television commercials in association with the imagery from the film. Sonam Kapoor recently joined the L’Oreal Paris Dream Team alongside Eva Longoria, Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, etc. and is in talks with Hollywood, including Ben Stiller for his next film project.

A modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma, translated to Delhi’s high society, ‘Aisha’ is released on 6th August 2010
