'THE
TRAIN' PREMIERES AT THE IIFA WEEKEND
(7 June 2007)
In
keeping with its tradition over the years, International Indian
Film Academy (IIFA) today premiered Raksha Mistry and Hasnain
S. Hydrabadwalas The Train as the IIFA World
Premiere Film, to a star studded audience. This Emraan Hashmi
starrer received a red carpet welcome at the Cineworld Castleford
in Yorkshire. The Train World Film Premiere at the IDEA IIFA Weekend
was attended by superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan,
Shilpa Shetty, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Raima Sen, Aftab Shivdasani
and a host of Indian Cinemas superstars.
The
Train is a passionate thriller that takes us on a ride through
the gloomy marriage of Vishal Dixit (Emraan Hashmi) and Anjali
( Ex-Miss India World, Sayali Bhagat), which is headed towards
a dead end. Both have no reason to live with each other except
for their daughter of five years Nikki. For a man who has found
solace in cheerless solitude, a chance meeting with the exuberant
and sensuously enchanting Roma (Geeta Basra) suddenly changes
Vishals life. He finds himself thrown onto the center-stage
of temptation, seduction, and lust.
But that is where the movie stops being predictable and takes
an unimaginable turn. The extra marital affair is just one facet
of this unusual tale. The presence of a faceless man with evil
intentions spying on the three protagonists throughout the film
is bound to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
The music track of the film is special and the reasons are aplenty.
The movie has tracks by music director Mithoon, who is also the
sole composer. He has gained popularity with his music for Awarapan
in the recent past. Lyrics maestro, Sayeed Quadri has lent words
to the tunes. Speaking on this occasion, Shyam Bajaj, the producer
of the movie said, It is indeed an honour for me to have
my movie premiered at IIFA. A stage of repute, IIFA has premiered
movies in the past that have gone on to become milestones in the
journey of Indian cinema. For my film to be following in the steps
of such masterpieces is a dream come true for me.
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, said Emraan just moved
my heart. He is so natural on screen. Sayali acted like a seasoned
actor. There were no traces of nervousness in her performance
while Geeta is a star in the making.
Each year the IIFA World Premiere Film is chosen by the IIFA Management
after considerable evaluation to ensure that the profile fits
the IIFA objectives of screening good, meaningful cinema and movies
of international standards. Over the past few years, the IIFA
World Premiere platform has showcased films like the Oscar-nominated
Lagaan, Aankhen, Yuva, Parineeta and Provoked
.all of which
have been acclaimed the world over.
