launches £500 Billion bailout package

Prime Minister Gordon Brown Wednesday announced
an unprecedented £500-billion bailout
package as central banks around the developed
world cut interest rates in a coordinated
move aimed at rescuing the global economy
from a crippling credit crunch. The
government also made available £200
billion in short-term loans and up to £250

Farmers
at Sanand village in Gujarat burst crackers
and distributed sweets Tuesday evening, welcoming
the Tata Motors' decision to relocate the
Rs.15-billion Nano car project to the state.The
plant will be spread over about 1,100 acres,
and will have an initial capacity of 250,000
units, which can be expanded to 500,000 cars

at the Lloyds TSB Southern Jewel Awards on
Saturday 4 October 2008. Among the winners
