Greetings Curry Lovers!

EDITORIAL COMMENT

As India - with a majority Hindu population, a Sikh Prime Minister and Muslim President - celebrates its Republic Day, our thoughts must surely turn to whether we are truly celebrating multicultural harmony elsewhere in the world. European Hindus are "up in arms" about a potential ban on the swastika and the "watering down" of a new report into the Kashmir dispute.

While the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) has been "under fire" for not participating in this weekend's Holocaust Memorial Day (27 January 2007), British Muslim Hero Jabron Hashmi's family have been honouring him at the foundation of the Armed Forces Memorial in Staffordshire. And to end the week, "Mr U-turn on Faith Schools", Education Secretary Alan Johnson has been telling us that lessons in British Values will be taught in schools. Perhaps the GGM comedy sketch "Going for an English!" will come back to haunt us all!

Until next time,
Lopa Patel (Editor - Redhotcurry.com)
